Origins of the Universe
At the beginning there was only nothingness, both existing and non existing, both alive and dead, just a blackness, or rather a lack of all colors, in an unlimited space with a nonexistent centre. At an undefined moment, a center created itself, expanding its body, limiting space, creating colors, bringing the universe into existence. From the center two different energies emerged, the void and the wasabi sea, both scattered with no directions to follow. Just then, an entity started coordinating them together, forming the planets, the stars, the very elements that constitute the universe itself. When the entity had finished its job, every planet was brimming with life, endless possibilities in each and every one of them. With the job done, the entity left, and the energies were once again without a master. The void and the wasabi sea started converging, forming something unprecedented, something that would shake the newly created universe: a form of life capable of controlling them. The creature named itself “Prima”, its mind already drunk on power. It went from planet to planet to rule over every form of life, but never finding one quite advanced enough so that it could become a true God, worshiped and revered. At one point Prima found an interesting planet, one that had a clear division between void and wasabi sea, unlike the others. On the planet there were the Warlocks and the void beasts, constantly at war with each other. The Warlocks were deer humanoids, they developed a power inherited by one half of the universe, something akin to magic, yet slightly different: it was the power of wishes, the ability to bring into reality their will and impart it onto the universe.
A Warlock's strength was represented by the length of their horns, as well as the pattern on them. The Void Beasts were the exact opposite. They ate one another, and they possessed the strength of the other half of the universe: a destructive power that was unrivaled, their crystallized bodies able to gather and convey energy into destructive blows. Prima wished to see who the victor would be, and it would actively encourage battles between the two species. The Warlocks, thanks to their connection to the universe and vast intellect, could spot the being playing God with them as if they were toys, yet instead of relenting, they decided to bide their time. Prima liked playing tricks on the Warlocks, like making their young be born without the source of their power, their horns, and thus unable to even wield it. “Hornless”, they called them. It favored the void beasts instead, often gifting them a little bit of its power so that they could even overthrow an already lost battle. Its power, however, was far too much for the beasts, and most of them died after only the smallest of injections, yet Prima didn’t care a single bit. One day, a young “hornless” Warlock began studying wish magic differently, he didn't try to use it in the conventional way, instead he sought the ultimate counter: Wishbreaker. A state of mind that could overcome the failsafe in the mortal brain that limited it to only “realistic” thoughts. If the young Warlock could only achieve that, then beating a God would be possible, he could free its people from this neverending cycle of war.
After centuries of studying and perfecting his magic, he gathered a group of powerful Warlocks that could shake the pillars that held the sky, and even established a truce with the Void Beasts, who were sick of dying unreasonably, to take on their own creator. When the will of the primordial force realized what was happening it was already too late. By giving up their own existence, Warlocks and void beasts split their God in two different entities, forever breaking its grip on the fate of the universe. The separation of such an entity shook the entire universe as the two halves, the Void and the Wasabi Sea, became pure, unbridled energies once again. The result was so catastrophic that it rewrote the universe as a whole, splitting the warlocks into the multiple races that now inhabit the planet that’s known as the perfect merging of void and wasabi sea: Earth. That planet would host the inheritance of the Warlocks, various species such as goblins, animagi, humans and their more direct descendants, the witches. The Void Beasts’ descendants inhabited a place that grafted itself on earth: the Void. From the separation, the countless strengths of the Void beasts separated into multiple species, and the void-rich environment allowed them to evolve further. The splitting didn’t stop here. It reached every single planet, splitting every form of life into multiple subspecies, and even rendering some planets barren and devoid of life.
RACES:
Witches
Vampires
Born from the multiple evolutions that the
original warlocks undertook after the genesis,
witches inherited their power of controlling the
wasabi sea, albeit weaker than the original thing.
At first, witches were persecuted as humans
thought that their magic bent the rules of the
universe in ways that would bring the wrath of
some higher being. As story went on, the witches
society saw many many changes: at first they
were a tribalistic society, organized in groups that
each worshiped a concept relative to their magic,
and as such many witches with similar powers
came together in different places, leading them
to develop a fairly secluded way of thinking.
When the humans attacked them, trying to drive
them to extinction, the witches were divided,
weak, and unable to stop the massive numbers of
humans going after them. It was almost the end
for the witches, until finally, after centuries of
suffering, one among them rose up to the top,
uniting her fellow witches, and establishing a
powerful force: bremdraga, the witches union,
that would then give the same name to their
capital city. And thus, the witch queen was born,
an individual that would lead the witches to get
not only all human rights, but also a privileged
spot in society for the services that only witches
could provide. At first the witch queen's rule
seemed benevolent, just someone that rose up to
help her race. But over the years her lust for
power grew, leading her to the recent
“purifications”, which would involve
exterminating any and all witches that mingled
with the void, as they were sullying their own
race. This was simply a pretext to make sure a
being more powerful than a witch wouldn't be
born, it was a sort of “risk control” to maintain
authority and power.
Vampires are the result of a human withstanding
void corruption, by injection either from another
vampire or from another strong, concentrated
void source. The process of creating a vampire is
called “carving”, as it involves void energy
inscribing the subject's spinal column with
symbols of unknown origins. For a vampire to
carve a person it takes an immense amount of
energy, often only possessed by the oldest
vampires. It is possible for a weaker vampire to
carve someone, but it would result in them
entering a weakened state, and it would produce
an even weaker vampire, thus the practice of
carving is rarely even used, resulting in extremely
low numbers for the vampires. The most brutal
way for a human to become a vampire would be
constant exposure to a strong void source, but
such a thing is so rare that only origin vampires
are known to have gone through such an
endeavor, resulting in powers far beyond those of
carved vampires. The only vampire that became
such with no help from anyone, just pure sheer
force of will and mayhaps a bit of silliness is
pulloca.
The history of vampires begins with the first
vamp apparition. It is debated among historians,
some say “the Redness” was the first, some claim
that “The Shine Demon” was the first.
What's sure is only that their existence dates back
to old human civilizations, and that they barely
even interact with humans unless strictly
necessary.
Xelorians
Loxolas
Xelorians were an alien race that could channel the wasabi sea to perform dimensional hopping through portals. They had enhanced physical abilities and a way to channel the wasabi sea to fight that involved physical enhancement, as opposed to most of the witches wish magic. Xelorians were a warrior race with scarce wits. They believed their God to be a massive gas cluster, a concentration of extremely pure wasabi sea, from which they thought they had originated at the beginning of it all. They were convinced they had to follow their God at any cost, as the will of the wasabi sea was incomprehensible and would often span over countless dimensions. The cluster would constantly move from one dimension to another, leaving the Xelorians a mere few thousands years of preparation before it would move again. Believing their God’s will to be mysterious yet just, their society would soon start revolving around predicting their God’s next movement, even if their wisdom was limited, as their muscles took most of their blood away from their brains. Still, Xelorians evolved to live upwards of thousands of years over time, constantly enhancing their abilities through relentless training and passing down their knowledge through speech only. Xelorians are the only race that's unique to all dimensions and timelines, essentially free from the paracausal rules, even if they rarely meddled with anything else, seeing that as an insult to their God's will. The only race they allowed themselves to meddle with was their prey race, as it was their God's will that they fed on them in every time and place. Their extinction was due to the colossal being known as the leviathan, a monster capable of mauling Gods as well as interfering with dimensional travel: as the xelorians tried to follow their God to another dimension the beast cut them off, devouring them and erasing their existence forever. Except for one: Hunk Scott, who was still an egg at the time, and managed to get through dimensional travel, eventually ending up in the current wasaverse. Contrary to his peers he eventually meddled with earth's affairs, effectively breaking every xelorians tradition. He also started preying on the xelorians’ prey race instinctively, thus repeating the previous state of the food chain, making sure loxolas feared xelorians even in this universe.
Born when a cluster of stars collided with their
home planet, Aequor, Loxolas rapidly evolved
over thousands of years from simple single cell
being into full grown axolotl-like creatures.
Their minds expanded faster than their bodies evolved,
quickly making them into one of the most
intelligent forms of life in the whole known universe.
As their bright minds hogs most of their
bodies’ nutrition, they are weak and feeble, and
usually make up for that with their advanced
technology. Their society is achievement based,
rewarding individuals with the greatest
contributions to society, and among all the
possible achievements, the greatest ones are
exploration based, as the cosmos fascinates them
in an almost uncanny way. Brave loxolas would
try to send probes, create ships, and venture out
into the universe, trying to earn the most sought
after achievements. All loxolans venturing after a
certain point near their planet would perish, and
their bodies and ships would never be found
again, loxolan scientists could never figure the
reason why, until a brave loxolan managed to get
through, through a weird twist of fate. Her fate is
still unknown to her race, and they just assume
her own idiocy killed her right after.
Animagis
Goblins
A byproduct of the warlock's division after the genesis, Goblins were born after a constant mutation of the original gene, resulting in short, greenish creatures with pointy ears, and an insatiable hunger for riches. Goblins were always a major race, but tended to work in the shadows, manipulating markets and gathering gold through legal yet sketchy schemes. They participated in every major war, supplying weapons to both sides equally, as long as they were paid enough money to do so. Little is known about how many events they were involved in, and even with their hefty numbers they are extremely scattered about, without a form of unity, as family means nothing more than a business deal for them.
Nowadays, a big portion of goblin population lives in the Underbridge, where money flows like a river, organized in gangs each controlling a different piece of their turf.
The current leader of the Underbridge, Tom E. MoneyMaker, is the most influential goblin in the whole city, capable of leading all the gangs in the Underbridge by utilizing his intellect and cunning that surpasses a regular goblin. After the great criminal purging from the gloomy queen, his business is the one and only business still standing, thus giving him a complete monopoly over the flow of cash.
Another evolution stemmed from the warlock's division after the genesis, Animagis resemble animals while retaining anthropomorphic features. Contrary to witches, they possess no magical power. During history Animagis were involved in wars with both humans and goblins, which made those same races develop a deeply rooted hate for the Animagi race. One example is the great invasion of the first and only Animagi kingdom, which happened during medieval times and ended up in the complete separation of all Animagi species around the globe.
In the following centuries Animagis were used mostly as slaves, which were separated from humans and relegated in their own districts and zones in cities. Many Animagi generations fought for their rights with sweat and blood, leading them to obtain equality with every other race.
Today they are seen as equals with many of them being appreciated for their unique characteristics.
Bridge city still has an Animagi district but instead of being a symbol of separation it's a beacon of unity between humans and Animagis.
CHARACTERS:
WASABINA RIVERS:
Born into a rich and influent family, Wasabina didn't even need to raise a single finger to get whatever she wanted. A new phone? Instantly hers. A quad? Of course, all yours miss. And yet, in that gigantic spiral of money, she still was missing something. Something that money couldn't buy. As her cold, calculating mother paid no attention to her nor her sisters, and all the comfort she could get from her father was short lived, Wasabina's early life, from infancy to teenage years, was spent mostly with a constant feeling of being alone. Sure, her older sister played with her sometimes, maybe her father offered a word of comfort and a warm embrace, but she never felt that motherly love that kids her age needed. And with that came problems with socializing through these difficult years, all the way until high school. She tried to make friends, of course. She tried her hardest, but it still wasn't enough. Until one day, a curious boy with a beast-like behavior suddenly dropped into her life, and was legally adopted into her family. She thought that maybe she could finally have a friend, someone to share lunch with perhaps, or even play at the park sometimes. Though the boy wasn't really used to socializing either, and didn't seem to find an interest in doing so. Thankfully, one fateful day, a girl with bright purple hair found Wasabina during one of her usual “cry the day away” sessions in the bathroom, and suddenly it was like a spark had hit the short fuse that was her social life. That girl was her first real friend, and would eventually become her girlfriend. She eventually managed to be friends with the now more tame beastly boy, and her roster of friends only grew with the years, bringing her to where she is today. A lazy, stinky bum, but with a heart of gold and the passion to befriend anyone, no matter how grumpy they are. Even her mother has been warming up to her friend group, and by warming up I mean just bringing them juice sometimes, that has been poured into glasses and plated by her husband. Eh, it's at least something, ya know?
LULU LU:
Lulu isn’t actually human. She is a chaos god, born in the immense emptiness of space. For a very long time, she lived alone with her father, absorbing the energy she needed to fully grow. Eventually, she grew bored of it and came down to Earth, hoping to live a more fulfilling life. When
she landed, she saw a group of teens, having mindless fun. “This is it”, she thought, “this is what I want”. She shifted her body to make it seem human, copying the appearance of someone walking by and tweaking it a bit to her tastes.
After that, she followed a group of people into a nearby building and, in a bathroom stall, found a crying girl. Having been isolated for so long this was strange behaviour to Lulu. In her curiosity, she talked to the girl, who seemed to stop shortly after.
However, that girl did not stop pestering her in the next days, which greatly annoyed Lulu. Until she came to the realisation that that girl, that weird, green haired girl, provided her energy somehow. As a chaos god, she needed energy to survive, which she couldn’t get on earth normally.
However, that girl seemed to have emanate a special power.
So, she decided to hang around her, befriending her and learning about the human world.
As of now, Lulu works as a secretary at WINC, living her life like a real human,
using her limited eldritch powers only when needed.
PAKO RIVERS:
Pako was born in the Void, a ruthless, lawless land. Being born there meant you had no hope for the future, and were doomed to die there, starved to death or killed. To make matters worse, Pako’s mother had died, and his father was abusive towards him. However, Pako was a genius, and used his wits to survive and forage for food.
To boost his chances of survival Pako cut off his own arm and replaced it with a mechanic one using junk he found lying around.
Around his teen years, he was found by a WINC expedition to the void. Joy Rivers, always
looking for brilliant minds to serve her, jumped at the chance to make Pako hers.
She took him to Bridge City, adopted him, and paid for his education, in order to
nurture his mind. She also intended for one of her daughters to date Pako, so the
Rivers Lineage could have a quality heritage.
But that didn’t work, as Pako ignored every move the Rivers’ middle daughter, Wasabina, made towards him.
He quickly became aware of Joy’s greedy nature and hates her to this day.
Nowadays, he lives with his daughters, plus Wasabina and her girlfriend. He still
works for Joy as her lead engineer, so her plans were partially successful.
MOONCAKE RIVERS:
The more Pako lived in Bridge City, the more he realised he was socially inept, and lacked understanding on many human emotions, especially the relation between father/children.
So, kind of on a whim, he decided he would clone himself, mixing in different DNA samples from some of the strongest beings on the planet and make a daughter.
Of that endeavour was born Mooncake, a very sweet, happy child, who always tries to find the good in people.
She was born and quickly achieved the body of a 16-year-old, because Pako didn’t want to deal with the hardships of taking care of a baby. Pako’s project worked like a charm, maybe even too
well, since he became a very protective father. It took quite a while for Mooncake to even be able to go to school or wear the clothes she wanted to wear, due to his obsessiveness.
As of today, Mooncake goes to Bridge City High, hangs with her friends and spends most of her days helping out people in need.
SOLEIRA (SUNNY) RIVERS:
Sunny is what you’d call a rare specimen. She is an Humagi, a rare mutation in which a human has animalistic features without being an Animagi. Horrified by her, her parents sold her to a genetics company called EUGENICS, who ran experiments on her for years.
Later on, in one of many “extra-legal” endeavours of WINC, they absorbed the company.
They found Sunny, and Joy wanted to continue the experiments on her. However, Pako saw her, and the fear he saw in her eyes reminded him of his childhood.
So, the same night, Pako rescued Sunny from WINC’s labs, and legally adopted her.
Joy was livid when she realised, but there was nothing she could do. By then, Sunny was already adopted and was therefore both her granddaughter and a Rivers. She also didn’t want to get in a legal fight, since she would lose her most valuable asset, Pako.
While she had a rough adaptation, she is now very happy living with her family, and loves to cook stuff for her father and dreams to be a chef one day.
LUDE LU:
One interesting characteristic of chaos gods is that they are oviparous and parthenogenic, meaning they lay fertilised eggs without the need for a sexual partner. Because of this, Lulu would
periodically lay eggs, which would hatch, if she didn’t burn them all before they had the chance. However, just once, one egg slipped her attention, and ended up hatching.
That was Lude.
When sherealised her mistake, Lulu attempted to kill Lude, but Wasabina and
Pako stopped her, saying they wanted to keep her. After that, Lude
went to live with her grandfather Alaber, since Lulu did not want to
be a mother.
Alaber taught Lude how to control her powers, and with
time, Lulu became fond of her, ending up accepting the little spawn.
Lude has a bratty demanor, she onlyspeaks in AWAWA, and her favourite thing in the world is chocolate
milk.
NEMESIS:
During another one of WINC’s extra-legal activities, the secret police found a weird looking apparatus. It looked like some sort of energy core, nothing ever seen before.
It was handed to Pako, with the only instruction to discover what it actually was and how to use it. Pako, of course, completely forgot about it, too absorbed in his current projects to care.
A few years later he realized he had been using it as a door holder.
With a renewed curiosity, he started tinkering with it, cracking its secrets in a couple of hourse.
By next morning, he had created NEMESIS, an intelligent robot tasked with protecting Sunny
from all harm. He has since been accepted in the Rivers household as a member of the family.
With months passing by, NEMESIS, or Nessy, for short, developed an unique personality. He enjoys comic books and light novel, with a deep interest for the “superhero” concept. His favorite character, of course, are Superman and Spiderman, of which he follows every creed.
HUNK SCOTT:
Born from the single egg that survived the xelorian’s extinction, Hunk Scott found himself in an unfamiliar universe, only managing to survive thanks to his space hopping powers that allowed him to move in a limited part of the universe, instantly traversing from point to point. He kept himself sustained by instinctively feeding on the dead Loxolas that perished while trying to explore the space around Aequor, until eventually, none left the planet again. Hungry and tired, Hunk Scott kept randomly hopping from point to point, until he felt something, a pulling force beckoning him to come near. He ended up on Earth, his powers now sealed away by a superior force, and only being able to teleport on the surface of the planet. He hid away for some time, eating mostly fish and quickly coming to understand the human language, trying to gauge if they were worthy enemies or just weak creatures to feed on.
When the time was right, he searched for the origins of his calling: Wasabina, which he felt was an immense surge of Wsabi Sea.
He fought her, almost killing her in the process. And as he was about to absorb her vital force, Wasabina awakened her nuclear powers, defeating him on the spot.
She didnt kill the alien, but rather beheaded him, keeping him alive in a jar for the following months. During this period, he studied the disfunctional family, interacting with Mooncake and, a few months later, Sunny.
As he got better with the language and the behaviour, he was allowed to leave the jar. The insane Xelorian regeneration quickly built him a new body, but the strict rules of the household prevented any kind of violence, which was natural for him.
With time, he learned how to behave properly, falling in love with the noble human sport called “fishing”.
FIORE:
Fiore is one of only 77 witches, being one of the younger ones. Her horns, like all witches, are the source of her power, and bloom beautiful flowers in the spring. When she was young, she lived with her sister and her parents. However, as a witch, Fiore has a longer lifespan than most. When she was in her teen years, her parents died of old age, and her sister had married and moved out. On her own, she decided to move to Valencia, where she fell in love with a man named Toledo, and found happiness. What she didn’t know was that this man hated witches and had approached her in order to kill her.
His attack left her with a scar on her neck, and another one in her heart. After this, she moved again to Bridge City, where she opened a flower shop next to Fraz’s bar. She would later meet Touya, who she would fall in love and find happiness with.
Recently Fiore was able to become a history teacher, working in Bridge City's middle school, thus realizing her biggest, and well hidden dream.
TOUYA LABRISSE:
Touya works as a marine biologist, which causes her to be absent from Bridge City a lot of time at once. She lives with Fiore and enjoys doing sports and being fit in general. That scar on her face is a result of an encounter she had with a polar bear during one of her latest voyages (she
won, of course).
A fan fact about her: Touya is one of the few people in the Wasaverse to have the “super strenght gene”, a natural mutation which causes her to have the strenght of ten men.
Other characters that have this are Jelly and Mike Rivers.
PICCA:
Picca had once been a slave in Ancient Greece, serving a wealthy man alongside another young girl. Despite their harsh lives, the two were inseparable. At night, while their master slept, they would dance and sing together, finding brief moments of happiness in a life that gave them little reason to smile. But when they turned fifteen, everything changed. Their master announced that he intended to marry Picca’s friend, a thought that terrified them both. They knew that, as slaves, neither of them had much control over their own lives, and marriage to their master would only mean another form of captivity. Then, almost as if fate itself had answered their fears, Picca encountered a strange man in the marketplace the following day. His eyes were an unnatural golden yellow, glowing faintly like the moon. He approached her and offered his help, under one condition: Picca had to meet him beneath an olive tree in the middle of the night. Desperate for a way out, Picca agreed. That night, she went to the olive tree alone. What happened there would remain a blur in her memory. She remembered a piercing pain in her back, the sensation of her blood boiling inside her veins, and her entire body aching as though it were being torn apart. Then came the eyes. Her own eyes seemed to burst from their sockets, only to be replaced by eyes identical to the stranger’s—golden, luminous, and inhuman. Then, suddenly, the pain stopped. Picca felt stronger. She felt powerful. She felt reborn. She rushed back to her master’s house, only to find him standing over her friend’s body, a bloody knife still clutched in his hand. Her friend lay motionless on the floor, surrounded by a pool of blood. “This whore rejected me,” he said coldly. For a moment, Picca simply stared at him. Then, in an instant, his head flew across the room, severed from his body before he could even react. Picca buried her friend beneath the same olive tree where she had been reborn. As she covered the grave with earth, she sang their favorite song one last time.
After that, Picca disappeared. For the next several millennia, she wandered from land to land, doing whatever she pleased and indulging her insatiable thirst for violence. Wherever she went, destruction followed. Villages fell, criminals were slaughtered, and countless lives were lost in her wake. Eventually, her wandering brought her to Bridge City. There, she descended into the Underbridge, a lawless place filled with criminals, killers, and those who lived beyond the reach of the city above. One by one, Picca slaughtered them all, and when the bloodshed finally ended, she remained in the Underbridge and made it her home. The people living there began to whisper about her. Some called her a monster. Others called her a protector. Eventually, they gave her a title: the Gloomy Queen of the Underbridge.
COLA:
Cola was born in a important and respected family of the Animagi District. They welcomed their new daughter like a blessing and life, for a while, was perfect. Until one faithful night when her parents heard crying coming from her room.
They rushed towards it, only to see two big yellow lights, shining like the moon, out of the window. Before they could react to it, Picca had already snatched Cola and fled.
When she arrived at her lair, Picca prepared to snack on Cola, but then, Cola grabbed her thumb.
In that precise moment, something awakened inside Picca, and she couldn’t bring herself to kill the baby. She ended up raising her without memory of her real parents, who searched for her for years, to no avail.
Picca, of course, never told Cola about her real origins and she, on the other hand, never felt the need to ask.
As of now Cola lives a normal teenager life in the Underbridge where everyone loves and respect her (mostly out of fear of Picca), with some calling her “Princess of the Underbridge”.
Sometimes she can even reach Bridge City to hang with her friends, Mooncake and Soba.
SOUR:
Sour was born in medieval times, in a small animagi village.
During these times, animagis were discriminated upon by humans.
Sour was a mischievous child, going around the village collecting and stealing shiny cool objects. This wasn’t really a problem, since everyone knew each other. At least, until the day the land’s lord came to collect taxes. When Sour’s dad’s turn came up, Sour’s sight fell upon the lord’s horse. It was a beautiful horse, adorned with all sorts of accessories of gold and jewels. In her usual innocent and mischievous demeanour, Sour swiped a metal ring from the horse. No one saw her, she believed. Except for one guard, who alerted the lord. Her parents begged for forgiveness, claiming she was just a “stupid animal” who didn’t know what she did. The lord smirked “Stupid animal huh…Now that I think about it, I could use one or two new fur coats.”
The next memory Sour has is of the village burning, with animagis running around in
fear. Her dad on the floor, covered in blood next to other animagi corpses. The feeling of a blade in her back. Her consciousness, fading away. And then, a feeling of freshness, as if breathing fresh air after drowning. She saw a woman with bright, yellow eyes, as yellow as the moon. She disappeared as quickly as she had appeared, leaving Sour behind in her burning village. For the next thousand years, Sour roamed the lands, trying to find the mysterious lady that saved her life.
At last, she found a clue: the lady was in Bridge City. When she arrived, she was lost and hungry, looking miserable after 1000 years of wandering around. An old goblin, Dadblin, found her and took her in for a while, something which Sour is incredibly grateful for.
Right now, Sour moved to Mystic Hollows, the most ancient district in Bridge City, where she found another vampire: Pulloca.
Together, they go day by day. Sour's still searching for her ancient creator while Pulloca following her around, learning new ways of getting high and with a belly full of fast food.
HEARTS:
Hearts is an orphan of the Underbridge, having been adopted by Dadblin at a young age. She helps him by doing random small chores, mostly computer stuff.
She is a full-blown shut-in neet, completely obsessed with vampires (the mainstream, media ones). Whenever she is free, she’ll be reading/writing fanfics and playing dating sims about them.
Of course, being from the Underbridge, she knows all about Picca, idolizing her as a goddess. No one actually knows that Picca is a vampire, but Hearts has her suspicions. After all, her pale skin, her fangs, her swift movements, the fact she avoids the sun, she has to be a vampire!! She tries to mimic her appearance, buying fake fangs and contact lenses that replicate Picca’s eye pattern. And of course she has a Picca body pillow, what did you expect.
DADBLIN:
Back when Dadblin was younger, the Underbridge was run by the gangster triad: a very dangerous group of gangs that ruled with an iron fist, making it a very unsafe place for everyone.
It was him who managed to liberate the Underbridge from them (prior to Picca's arrival), bringing peace to the Underbridge once again. He now owns an orphanage, helping everyone he can. His kind heart and soft soul have earned him the nickname “Dadblin”, his real name having been lost to time.
PULLOCA:
Pulloca comes from the ancient kingdom of Babylon, from over 4000 years ago. The details of her
turning into a vampire are a mystery, even to herself, as she has since forgotten all about those times.
Only one thing truly catches her interest: shiny trinkets. She will roam around, collecting everything shiny she sees like a gremlin, and then displaying at home. She lives in an abandoned house in the Mystic Hollows, the oldest district of Bridge City. Its old inhabitants tend to be very hygienic, since, if their skin became shiny due to sweat or being oily, Pulloca might kidnap them.
FRAZ BONES:
Fraz was born in a wealthy family of architects in Upper Bridge City.
Expected to take over the family business, he was in a lot of pressure. His entire family would act coldly and rationally towards, to shape him as the next big architect.
He wasn’t really against this behaviour, as he didn’t know any alternatives.
The only one who didn’t treat him like that was his uncle, the “black sheep” of the family.
During the time Fraz lived with him, he taught him that it was ok to chill out and to not aim for the top. That completely changed Fraz’s world view, much to his family’s dismay. After that, Fraz wasn’t allowed to meet his uncle again, which led to his rage building up over time. It was in his high school years that he finally burst, dropping his studies.
During this period, he met Beky, who helped him realise he didn’t hate architecture itself, it’s just that his family had forced it on him. He told his father he would resume his studies, on his own terms this time, and things were well for a while.
It was during this time that he met Pako, his best friend with who he would have lots of insane, crazy adventures, the kind too gruesome to be told. Until one day, he found out that his uncle had passed under mysterious circtumstances and no one had told him.
This time, his rage was so great that he completely stopped his studies and cut all ties with his family.
Later on, he received a letter, a contract for an old bar in the animagi district, given to him by his uncle who had never believed architecture was right for him.
“This”- he thought -“this is right for me.”
BEKY ISHAR:
Beky grew up in an abusive household, with a drunk father who would beat them and a mother who was too scared to be able to do anything. To sustain both her and her mother, Beky began stealing small things around town. This wasn’t enough, since her father would take away most of the things she brought to buy more booze. If she wanted to change things, she would need to go bigger.
Fascinated by the flashy gangs, Beky decided she would try to join the Nosecutters, an infamous goblin gang. At first poorly positioned, Beky made her name when she slit a goblin’s throat, earning the respect of the gang. From there on, she was able to sustain her mother, who believed she was working in a grocery store.
She managed like this until one day, her gang leader attempted to kill her fearing that his position would be threatened.
In a struggle to resist,Beky bit off his nose and killed him with a rusty nail. From there on, the gang accepted her as the new leader. Things didn’t end there, as when she came home, she found her father dead on the floor, and her mother, who had finally snapped, holding a knife in hand.
Beky tried to offer to cover it up, but it was too late: her mother had already called the police. From there on, Beky was alone, at least until Fraz came into her life.
She now works with him at his uncle’s bar, while maintaining her position as gang
leader without him knowing. The glasses she wears are the last memento she has of her mother.
PARFAIT FLORES:
Parfait was born in Mexico, her mother being a very important military chief with who she had a complicated relationship. However, her father ended up coming out as gay, divorcing her mother and taking Parfait with him to Bridge City. This is where Parfait’s life took a turn for the best. At
school, she was always the most popular kid. Everyone wanted to either be her or be with her. Everyone, that is, to the exception of one single nerd who didn’t seem to care. This deeply annoyed Parfait, so she started hanging around him to make him fall in love with her. This backfired, as it was her who ended up developing feelings for him.
After school, she became one of the most respected fashion designers in Bridge City, having worked for many influential companies, including WINC.
Right now she actively works in AURORA, one of the most important fashion corporations in the world, where she's kept in extremely high regards by the CEO, Jam Nightgale
SOBA NEJI:
Soba’s family originates from Japan, from where they had to move when she was 2 years old because of financial struggles. Her dad opened the first grocery store in the animagi district, working hard to make it a success for the sake of his family. Because of this however, he didn’t
have much time to care for his daughter, looking for a babysitter to care for her. That babysitter came in a pack of two, under the name of Fraz and Beky. To this day, Soba is still close to them, treating them like family. She is very popular around the district, thanks to the fast deliveries she
makes for her father’s grocery shop. She has recently joined her high school track club and has started competing on a national level.
Her best friend is Mooncake, while she has a heated rivarly with the class president Pancake that keeps annoying her for her rebellious personality.
JELLY :
Jelly grew up is the lowest, most dangerous level of the Underbridge. Born with a thirst for blood and more strength than your average person, she decided to capitalize on it and signed up for an illegal fighting ring known as the “Midday Arena”. There she quickly made a name for herself, defeating powerful enemy after powerful enemy, betting on herself at the same time to double her winnings. By 13, she was the undisputed ruler of the arena, and no one dared to touch her. That was, until the day two strange boys arrived, one with golden hair and the other one with a
robotic arm, betting rivers of cash like it was nothing. Thinking this was her lucky day, she casually approached the blondie, inviting him for a match. He eagerly accepted, but to Jelly’s surprise, it wasn’t him who climbed onto the arena, it was the boy with the mechanical arm. “No
problem” - she thought - “I’ll make quick work of him and earn myself some nice cash”.
Jelly was in fact so confident in her abilities, that she betted all her savings on herself, never considering defeat as an option. A few seconds later however, there she was, laying on the floor utterly defeated.
With her reputation ruined and in deep debt, she was incarcerated for life in “The Vault”, a prison in the Underbridge.
Recently, she escaped, searching for Pako and Fraz. Yet surprisingly, she wasn’t out
for revenge, but just to reunite with the only “upground” people she knew.
Right now lives a somewhat peacefully life at Parfait’s place, working in a ketchup factory as a taste tester and hanging most of the time at Fraz's bar.
PUMPERNICKEL MARMALADE :
Pumper is a baker, very beloved in her community for being a very caring and loving person. She absolutely loves bread and all forms of bakery, worshipping it almost like a god. When someone disrespects bread in her presence, she opens her eyes and they implode on the spot. Her own
bakery is next to Fraz’s bar and Fiore’s flower shop, and it is regarded as the best bakery in the entire city.
PANCAKE MARMALADE :
Pancake is a very responsible and smart girl, having been nominated the class president. She takes everything really seriously, and this includes her love life. She has had a crush on Mooncake for a while now, and will casually drop hints every now and then to see if she has a chance, in a typical
bittersweet high school romance fashion. Her odds are looking bleak though, with Mooncake being completely oblivious to love stuff, and Pako being the ever overprotective father.
Right now, she's suspicious of the new student, Ambra, whom seems to have found an interest in her most beloved crush.
MACHA CHAI :
It's not easy being born bigger, stronger, larger. Well, it is technically, but not in the animagi district. Macha hatched from her egg into a family with a loving mother and a proud girldad, both medium sized komodo dragons with a modest income. Her father, a lumberjack. Her mother, a teacher. When Macha was born they were ecstatic, they always wanted a baby girl! That is, until the “baby” girl grew to completely tower over them, developing social anxiety because her schoolmates always got scared of her seeing her humongous size. So her parents decided to do whatever they could for their poor girl: they worked hard to afford every commodity she might need. Thing is, while her place in society seemed doomed, her grades were the exact opposite. She outclassed even teachers when it came to computers and programming, so much so that she graduated high school early. With barely any friends, she cooped up in her room, becoming a closeted otaku and avid idol enjoyer. Her liftetime masterpiece (or so she called it) was IDOLATRA, the single low latency program that allowed people to witness idol concerts in a full vr suit, with all their senses completely transferred in the digital world. And it was completely no profit, just fueled by macha's burning passion. Destiny willed that she would later on meet sprinkle, who was at the beginning of her career, in a locally owned maid café, and becoming since then her shadow agent, a hand pushing sprinkle's career forward with perfectly placed concerts, posts on social media, and just the right amount of drama. Basically 50% of sprinkle's success can be attributed to macha's expertise, and even then she would refuse to take a cut out of the profits, saying that she was doing it all for pleasure. Later on she met marshmallow as well, and now she's trying to push sprinkle and marshy together like no tomorrow. Marshamallow may be as dense as a rock, but macha is sure that she can get through her with enough time… and perfectly placed “run ins”.
BERRY STRAW :
Berry was born as one of the most intelligent and potentially revolutionary people of her generation. She was so remarkably gifted that, by the age of four, she was already capable of solving extremely complex mathematical problems. As she grew older, she developed a deep passion for nature, the arts, and philosophy, eventually leading her to pursue a career in the arts.
Her extraordinary talent and creativity quickly made her a staple of the artistic world, with some even calling her “the most influential artist of the century.” Yet Berry was more than just talented. She was kind, compassionate, and deeply protective of the weak, especially animals.
Her heart was so big and full of love that it attracted the attention of Gmail, one of the “Outside Beings” and a supreme creator of life. The omniscient entity took the form of a dog and bonded his infinite knowledge with Berry’s mind. The sheer amount of information overwhelmed her brain, scrambling it within seconds.
The experience transformed Berry into a completely different person. She became carefree, spontaneous, and constantly hungry for new adventures. And the best part? Berry absolutely loves it! And she even got a dog out of the whole ordeal!
LUME LU:
Born from one of Alaber's eggs, Lume is not a Chaos God, but rather an incarnation of a black hole.
Her powers are almost limitless, only controlled by her constant eating.
She cares about nothing but eating, ignoring everything else around her. When she doesn’t eat for longer than three hours (which happens quite rarely), she enters an energy saving mode, the lumeling (basically a baby version of herself).
The Lumeling can only speak in “umu”, and will return to its original form upon eating until she’s satisfied.
ALABER LU :
Just like Lulu, Alaber is a Chaos God.
After his daughter left for earth in look for something in her life, he later on decided to follow her, and now he is quite fond of his new, simpler human life. He enjoys the little things: cooking, tending his flowers, reading the newpaper and playing cards with the other “grandpas”
Nowadays he takes care of Lume and Lude, helping them control their powers.
JOY RIVERS:
The history of WINC begins in Germany, before the Second World War.
The Rivers family started as a small jewellery business, but their rise was rapid. Within a short time, they became the most renowned jewellers in the country, sought after by politicians, industrialists, and other influential figures. Their success, however, did not end with craftsmanship and prestige. With the outbreak of the war, the family shifted direction.
Driven by ambition and opportunism, they abandoned jewellery and turned to what was then the most profitable industry: weaponry. They invested enormous sums of money and, in just a few years, became the largest weapons dealers in Germany. When the war ended and the political climate changed, the Rivers family disappeared. They fled, went into hiding, and erased their public identity. Years later, they resurfaced in Bridge City under a new company name. It was Malleus Rivers, Joy's father who rebuilt the family’s power from the ground up, transforming WINC into the most influential and feared corporation in the city.
During this period of expansion Joy wants the ruthless leader she is today, but a simple, sweeter gal. She met Mike during her USA tour, with whom she fell deeply in love. Together they had three daughters: Wasabelle, Wasabina, and Wasabeth.
After Belle's birth, she took control of WINC and her personality completely shifted. Despite her success, Joy was an absent and emotionally distant mother. Her demanding schedule and newfound cold temperament left little room for affection, and her relationship with her daughters suffered as a result. This dynamic changed only when Pako entered their lives. His exceptional intelligence and remarkable genetic traits immediately captured Joy’s attention, making him her clear favourite. Her interest, however, was not rooted in care or admiration, but in
calculation. Joy envisioned marrying him into the Rivers family, hoping to bind his
superior genetics to one of her daughters and further strengthen the dynasty.
These plans ultimately failed, as Pako showed no interest in such arrangements. So no incest fantasies, guys.
WASABELLE RIVERS :
Wasabelle is the eldest of the Rivers sisters and the one who has chosen the quietest path. She lives largely detached from the rest of the family, deliberately avoiding the power struggles, schemes, and internal conflicts that define the Rivers name. Unlike her siblings, she seeks stability over influence and distance over confrontation, maintaining a life with minimal complications and no interest in family feuds.
She is married to a dentist, a relationship that reflects her desire for normalcy and predictability rather than ambition or prestige. Professionally, Wasabelle works at an advertising studio on the outskirts of Bridge City, far from the corporate towers and criminal networks tied to WINC.
Her life is modest by Rivers standards, but it is precisely this simplicity that allows her to remain untouched by the chaos of her lineage
WASABETH RIVERS :
The most cunning of the Rivers sisters, Wasabeth is the youngest of the trio. She is currently studying economics in Berlin, driven by the ambition of one day becoming the CEO of WINC and succeeding her mother. Calculated, sharp-minded, and relentlessly strategic, she mirrors Joy more than any of her sisters ever could.
Money is her primary motivation, not merely as wealth, but as power, leverage, and control. Unlike Wasabelle and Wasabina, Wasabeth understands the true mechanisms behind the Rivers empire and actively prepares herself to command them. This alignment of values is why she shares the strongest bond with her mother, who sees in Wasabeth a reflection of her own younger self.
Despite this closeness, Wasabeth’s relationships are never purely emotional.
Every connection is weighed, every alliance assessed for usefulness. Even
within the family, affection is secondary to advantage, and loyalty is inseparable from strategy.
JOHN RIVERS:
John is a professional hitman, responsible for some of the most infamous assassinations of recent history. Operating with precision and discretion, he built a reputation that made him both feared and indispensable in the criminal high society and corporations. Despite the violence that
defines his profession, John adheres to a rigid personal code, separating his work from what he considers family. When Joy brought Pako into their orbit, it was John who took responsibility
for shaping him into a functional member of society. Through brutal discipline
and relentless training, he taught Pako manners, social survival, and the unspoken rules of power, while also refining him into an efficient killing machine.
This process was not driven by affection; John never truly liked Pako, viewing him more as a necessary asset than as kin. That emotional distance does not extend to the rest of the family. John is fiercely loyal to them, showing genuine affection and protectiveness toward his nieces, and especially Pako’s daughters, Mooncake and Sunny. With them, his cold professionalism gives way to an unexpectedly warm devotion, revealing a side of John that few outside the family ever get to see.
JADE RIVERS:
Jade is the half-sister of Joy and John, born from their father Malleus’s second marriage to another
highly influential woman after his divorce. When Malleus first introduced her to the family, Joy refused to accept her, viewing her as an intruder rather than a sibling. The bond between them was strained from the beginning, marked by suspicion and rivalry rather than kinship.
Over time, however, Jade proved her worth through sheer competence and strategic intelligence. She built an independent financial empire, eventually coming to own and control multiple banks in New York. Her mastery of finance and global capital flows made her indispensable to the family’s interests. Today, Jade is the one who oversees and controls WINC’s funds, holding the corporation’s financial power firmly in her hands and securing her position not just as a Rivers by blood, but asone of the most influential figures within the dynasty itself.
MIKE DORREN :
Mike met Joy when he was younger, back when she was still a kind and sweet girl instead of a ruthless CEO. He loves all of his family and friends very dearly, and loves to grill. No one else in Bridge City, and frankly the world, can use the grill like him, and everyone knows him for his amazingfood and kind heart.
He's one of the few people that features the super strenght genes, making him 10x stronger than a normal human
MARSHMALLOW BURNT:
Marshmallow’s dad is one of the most feared policemen in Bridge City, and raised his daughter to be an example of bravery and kindness, helping those who need her and fighting for those
who can’t. Marshmallow, sadly doesn’t really care at all about these stuff . She just wants to live her normal, mundane life.
This has led to their relation growing apart for the past few years, making her dad give her an ultimatum: find a job, or go back to college.
So, Marshy was forced to get her ass up and find something to do. Luckily enough for her, Fraz's bar is always open if you are the direct interest for some kind of paying pervert, and Marshmallow's fluffy appearance was the perfect thign he needed. So, Beky hired her as a waitress.
Marshy's dad comes every morning to have breakfast there, making that small window of time he spends with his daughter the new best past of the day.
SPRINKLE SUNSHINE:
While in high school, Sprinkle was your stereotypical loser girl, bullied for her nose and ears.
Her only friend was Marshmallow, who was bullied for her wool. One day, Sprinkle found
out she had an amazing singing voice and started uploading covers online. In a matter of
days, she blew up and became a small internet celebrity. She has now left behind her bullies and
focuses on her career, as shes quickly becoming one of the most influential underground idols in the whole City.
Her innocent frienship with Marshmallow had quickly became a loving obsession, with the little bat making plans upon plans to gain her love.
CHANTILLY LA'CREME:
Chantilly comes from an upper-class French family, accustomed to a life of luxury, privilege, and effortless abundance.
That world collapsed when the family’s reputation was irreparably ruined, dragging their wealth and social standing down with it. Left with little more than her name, Chantilly chose to leave France behind and move to Bridge City, convinced that its skyscrapers and dazzling lights
would offer her a new life of glamour and opportunity. Reality proved far less forgiving. Bridge City demanded independence, resilience, and money she no longer had. For the first time in her life, Chantilly was forced to look for work simply to survive. By the second day, overwhelmed and disillusioned, she wandered into a bar and ordered a glass of wine. Halfway through it, already drunk and emotionally exhausted, she poured out her entire story to the bar’s owners.
Fraz and Beky, struck by her honesty and desperation, decided to help. They offered her a job at the bar, giving her the stability she desperately needed.
KAFKA:
Kafka was born in the Void, with a condition that made it hard for her to breath. In such a ruthless environment, her parents decided to abandon her, leaving her to die on the streets. Kafka had accepted her faith, until a passing boy took pity on her, and invented a contraption that made it
easy to breath. “Live or die, I don’t care” – he said – “but this might give you some time to decide”. This ignited a small flame in Kafka’s soul, and gave her the courage to fight. Years later, she managed to escape the Void, arriving at Bridge City.
This was a new chance for her, a fresh start on her life. Some years passed, and she was now working for Red Dot Industries, one of the most influential companies in Bridge City. She quickly
climbed the ranks, eventually becoming the CEO through an internal coupe. She still looks for that boy who saved her to this day… and she knows he is out there.
ERRA CHIYAO:
Erra is a prodigy, born in Bangkok. Since early she showed amazing prowess in fixing electronics, anything from phones to fridges, a skill that was very valued by her community.
However, her family was too poor for her to pursue a better education, much to their dismay. Her parents would buy her every book they could, which she would decimate and consume to their
full. Until one day, a certain greedy CEO from Bridge City caught wind of this so called prodigy. Joy was amazed at her skills; in fact, she had only seem skills like that once before. Ever the cold
entrepreneur, Joy offered to pay for Erra’s full education, under the condition that she’d only work for WINC. Erra ended up accepting, after Joy also agreed to pay for an allowance substantial enough not only for Erra, but for her whole family. She currently works as Pako’s subordinate, who she looks up to, while furthering her education. She has also recently become friends with Licorice,
who she has started seeing more often than usual at the engineering department and acting really friendly towards her.
LICORICE PARK:
Licorice moved from South Korea to Bridge City in hopes of climbing the corporate ladder, and one day making it to the top spot among the CEOs of Bridge City. She currently works for Joy at WINC as her personal assistant, working tirelessly. She quite literally lived for her job, until recently at least.Now, she has caught her mind slipping of work occasionally to think about a
certain someone from the engineering department…
CHEDDAR BRIE
Cheddar was born and raised in Canada, in every way seeming like your average girl. That is, if you forget about her crazy misfortune, which has made her life pretty miserable. After an enraged moose destroyed her apartment in Canada, Cheddar decided to move into Bridge City. She worked in retail for a little while, until her boss fired her to give his niece a job. A week after, a piano fell on her head and she had to be hospitalised for 3 months.
Recently, she has started working at Bridge Burger, surviving pay check to pay check and splitting the rent of her apartment with her weird short friend Sashimi.
SASHIMI
Sashimi comes from an alien race known as the Loxola. This race is extremely intelligent and is in constant pursue of more knowledge. It's many explorers, scientists, artists and philosophers have set out throughout all of space with one shared objective: to make a map of the universe. Unfortunately, Sashimi is not considered very bright for her race’s standards, being of average human intelligence, so she was assigned to a planet that homes a primitive species, Earth. From the second she first set foot on Earth, she fell in love with everything she saw, including the most mundane things, from things so insignificant like a used cigar tossed to the floor to the huge skyscrapers that decorate the cities' skyline. To better fit in with human society, she got a job at a burger joint, and she loves every second of it. She works together with Cheddar, who constantly has to cover up for her mistakes without anyone realizing. One thing however threatens her stay on Earth: Hunk Scott.
The Xelorians, being a race of warriors, hate the loxola, and will attack and feed on any Loxola in sight.
Sashimi is however blissfully unaware of Scott’s growing suspicion, and keeps living every day on Earth to the max.
CREAM NOBELT
Cream is a special type of animagi, known as “mythological”.
She is a jackalope (mix between bunny and deer). Her odd appearance made her stand out during high school, but that wasn’t what really crept people out: it was the fact that many had seen her, or at least swore to, having a conversation with nobody. This “nobody” was Jeremy, a wendigo
that only Cream could see and talk too. This made other students exclude her from their groups, completely ignoring her rather than bullying her.
During highschool she got elected to be class president because no one else wanted to be stuck with the paperwork. Oddly enough, Cream found this job to be soothing, helping her relax and
reduce the number of hallucinations she had. Eventually, this made her get a job at WINC as a secretary, and after her previous boss got fired, she started working as Pako’s secretary, much against his will.
Recently, she has started to develop feelings for him, in a usual workplace relationship romance manner.
AMBRA
No one knows who she is or where she came from. One day, she showed up in Bridge City High, without previous warning, and joined them. The teacher didn’t know who she was.
But mysteriously, there she was, in the student logbook – Ambra. The school has no other information about her. Her age, birthday, parents, last name, nothing.
Only two other things are known. She is exceedingly smart compared to the rest of the
class, and she seems rather fond of Mooncake… Who is this strange child, and
what could she want?
BEETY VON POLLEN
In Bridge City, the bee animagi race has their life set out for them from the moment they are born - they are to work for the Hexagon, a corporation controlled and ran entirely by bees, until they die and their job is taken by another bee. If you are born a male bee, then you will become a disposabeel, the manual power of the factory, who handle every job except production. That’s because the only bee animagis capable of producing the Royal Jelly, Hexagon’s main export, are the female bees, who later become queen bees and executives of the company. While this may sound like a violation of rights to most other Bridge City residents, the truth is that for bees, this is perfectly normal. This mentality is the main reason behind the Hexagon’s quick growth, with their workers being twice as productive as regular workers. Beety was set to become one of the queen bees, and received training since she was born to one day manage the company. However, Beety is not a fan of the mentality of the company of working till u die and every worker being replaceable. She was unique, a sore thumb amongst all the other bees. She didn’t want to lead the company, she didn't want to be stuck in an office her whole life, and she certainly didn't want to mate with up to 20 disposabeels at once to produce more bees. She wanted to be a clothes designer and bring the bees’ patterns and culture to the fashion world. Chasing after her dreams, she attempted to get into Aurora using her business connections, one of the big 3 companies in Bridge City, dedicated to fashion and biological implants. That was where she met Parfait, with whom she came to form a long-lasting friendship. Nowadays, she secretly sneaks away from the Hexagon on the weekends to meet up with Parfait and brainstorm new ideas.
